The country has a dry season from December to April and the wet season is from May to November.. Staying here feels as if you are staying in your own private resort, and you are! Separated from the mainland by the Tempisque estuary and the Gulf of Nicoya, Nicoya is home to some of the most immaculate and spectacular beaches in Costa Rica including Santa Teresa, Malpais and Montezuma.Water sports are huge in the Nicoya Peninsula and many surfers consider it the best place to surf in the world. If you’ve ever been inside a huge school of sardines or anchovies, you’ll know what I’m talking about.We have the most amazing color-changing octopus, that grows quite large here. But there’s a ton of life down there.Of course there are dozens of types of fish, including huge schools of silvery ones that will swim around you, which is to me one of the most spectacular experiences you can have diving. Explore Santa Teresa, Malpais, Montezuma and Tortuga Island. Is doing this and trying to drive through these regions asking for trouble?
