I didn’t notice the trail was closed, no signage or indications—my partner and I did this clockwise, though we tapped out at the 9.5m mark. I went on this trail in January and was glad I started (8am) early, because it gets crowded by 10:30 in the parking lot and trail.

All in all, amazing views and such a beautiful hike. Right now, in the mess, this is a great trail.
Definitely plan on making this a regular, though I’d recommend starting early and doing it when temps are cooler. And I’ll do it again soon. There was one big, mature rattlesnake that slid off into the brush and a garter snake that darted in front of us to cross the trail. Keep an eye out for poison oak.This trail goes to Rivas Canyon, not River Canyon. However, I don’t think dogs are allowed because I was yelled at last time I was there!I enjoy this one when I want a longer hike but not too strenuous. i did the loop plus Inspiration Point and Ranchero Ridge in 4 hours.
